Marzipan

The first time i read the name, i never thought this would be something to eat and in no case i thought it would be sweet!! But i was wrong. Marzipan is a confection consisting primarily of sugar or honey and almond meal, sometimes augmented with almond oil or extract.

Did you ever wonder how the little figurines used in cake decorations are made?? Well Marzipan is your answer. Marzipan is used  for dipping in chocolate, using in recipes, or forming figurines. Using this as a base, you can color, flavor, or form marzipan into many different candies or decorations.

Basically Marzipan is Almond Sugar Paste. While doing some research on it i can across a very nice article on Marzipan on Soshiok.com . The moment i saw eggs in the recipe, my search changed from Marzipan to Egg less Marzipan recipe. I found a few different online. Stay tuned, while i try those different ones and post my own ;)

Please feel free to comment in your own experiment and experiences with Marzipan!!
